Nobody Told Me It Would Be This Hard
Ministry is hard. And if we’re honest, sometimes we’re shocked by just how hard it can be. The resistance, the criticism, the slow growth, the spiritual weight — it can leave even faithful leaders wondering if they missed God somewhere along the way.
But Jesus didn’t hide the truth. In John 16:33, He told us plainly: “In this world you will have trouble.” The problem isn’t that ministry is difficult — the problem is that we often expect it not to be.
In this episode, we talk about why hardship in ministry is not a sign of failure, disqualification, or divine disappointment. We unpack what Jesus actually promised, why we’re still surprised by it, and how the second half of that verse — “I have overcome the world” — changes everything.
If you’re weary, discouraged, or quietly questioning your calling, this conversation is for you.
Ministry is hard.
But it is not hopeless.
